100 Themes version 2.0

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 30, 2008, 7:21 PM
Still playing with CSS...

Okay, idea -

I'm going to take on the 100 themes BUT with a twist -

I'm going to do 100 songs.

So - start with a few songs (if you're like me, you're constantly finding new music) and pick one. Play it, on repeat, for x amount of time (however long you can stand) and while it's playing, draw, photograph, sculpt. Whatever comes to your head, whatever that song inspires you, whatever you see. They don't have to be in any specific order, and even if what you see is something simple, illustrate it. Artists can be repeated, heck, do a whole album in one or multiple illustrations if you so desire! You can edit the list as long as you haven't already illustrated the song - once it's done, it's done, even if you decide later you hate it. Make sure to tell what song it is in the description - maybe someone will discover a new band they love because of this!

Just an idea.

I'll start with 10! (and keep adding)

1) Idioteque - Radiohead
2) A Wolf at the Door (It Girl. Rag Doll.) - Radiohead
3) Dondante - My Morning Jacket
4) The Vines - Autumn Shade/Autumn Shade II
5) Radio Friendly - Pony
6) Ocean Breathes Salty - Modest Mouse
7) How to Disappear Completely - Radiohead

And go!

And these cool people took the idea and ran with it. Thanks cool people! If I forgot you, send me a link and I'll put you up on here!

Hey! That's kind of like how the picture I just did was inspired by the Keane song Under the Iron Sea.

Music= good inspiration!

If I was a piece of tainted meat, I would be an e coli-infested, veal cutlet. :pooptoast:
you should illustrate while listening to Aenima or Lateralus.

or "lateralus" and "Parabol" and "Parabola".

hehe...any tool will do :)

That sounds like an awesome idea for an art series! I would do it, but I think I'd give up/lose interest after like, two or three pictures. T.T; Maybe if I just start small....
Anyway, can't wait to see more music-inspired art! :D
Heeeeeeyyyy good idea! Maybe now I'll finally be inspired to do the "100-whatever's" art challenge... : D

This fragile Earth, our island home.
That's a great idea! I like your take on the '100 themes' gig. :)

Recently, after being somewhat 'eh' about listening to music, I've really gotten into it. Must be something to do with getting a walkman for my birthday. ^^ I'm really starting to enjoy music, much more than I've ever done before.

Darn. That rhymed. >.< :XD:

I got into music after I got a walkmen as well, a looonnng time ago.

I was like "waitaminute" - MUSIC? Cool!
Question of curiosity: which deviant actually started the official 100 Themes first? I wanna know so that I can link back to him/her...

I AM (DEVIANT), THEREFORE I AM (DEVIOUS)!

You're touring a college and see someone zip by on a scooter, following all the typical "safety rules". The guide explains they are for involved students with good academic standing. Your reaction?
